Bëat in Zën is the unlikely meeting of dark and light.
Born in 1998 of 2 musicians lost in a world where nothing is dark enough to support the brightness of the diamond .
Released from its complexes, Beat in Zen music is like a trip, such as Dante’s to Hell.. Amazing encounters that leave a bitter taste. Primal and sensitive, the saving suffering expresses, helping us no to go beyond the limit of no return. Refusing the familiar structures for an experience of total freedom.
The other Side of Biz’art is visual art. It’s the immediate link with the listeners. The numerical creations dispersed on the home page illustrate the thought process of the duet, quietly, without comment. They prolong the music far beyond the senses.
Here, 2 heads, totally separated at birth but now combined by chirurgical connection in this music experiment. They are one and indivisible, for the best in the worst.

Hi Darling,
I am writing to you from my new place of holiday where I am having a ball. The sponsors are extra cool, they organise damn good games !
The other night, one of them crashed his bus onto a jeep. It all burst. So many were killed and among them even kids. That was great !
The traditions are well settled over here. I took a few nice negatives of lined up coffins. For my next expo, that will do it. In the same way, I even took a few negatives of traditionnal feasts where they cut heads off from still living guys, screaming with pain.
We were thrilled, what a blast !
Right, some people always break the atmosphere such as those pacifists -a pain in the neck- who won’t even go to the parties. But we ignore them, that’s the best to do.
I think I will come back for the next elections.
I am missing you a bit nonetheless, my worshipful Bubu...
When I am back, I promise, I’ll be all yours. Get ready !
If you could send a few weapons to the boys so they don’t run out...
Don’t you forget the Iraqi by sending them some massive destruction old ones as they still don’t have any. That will be good for the atmosphere.
I kiss you everywhere. Your Trollop

P.S. It’s almost as good as Vietnam, only napalm is missing ;0))
BEAT IN ZEN Fifth Victory? Coffret CD 12.00 EUR

----Myspace is simply a brilliant idea when it comes to discovering new talented and lesser-known acts. This is where to start when looking to find interesting bands such as Beat in Zen.
Hailing from France, this modern act uses technology in a crafty way to create its surrealist décor. Keyboards, electronics, samplings and vocal effects are used from beginning to end, top to bottom as well as some heavy guitar works and drum programming all along the way.
Those compositions are unusual, fun to listen to, humoristic (or sarcastic maybe), while staying melodic but keep in mind its schizophrenic personality. If looking for a good long lasting (60 mins +) opus of weirdness, 5th Victory is what you need and I think that all the people who like dark and alternative music, will enjoy this CD.
---- gothtronic.com _ Germany----It’s not an ostrich that falls out of the acer. Also it’s no Eastern meditation music hiding in the cardboard of this digipack, despite the use of the word "Zen" in the band name. No, this band hailing from La Douce France is firmly into industrial. Tramb and Xtof, that’s how the two strange blokes responsible for this pulsating sonic porridge wish to be called. What is being achieved here by this quizzical duo on their third album is not unlike a dish prepared with Skinny Puppy, Sonic Violence and a dash of Throbbing Gristle as ingredients. Mind you, you could also put a sticker saying "A Vague Crossover Between Revolting Cocks And Dissident Synthpop" on the sleeve for promotional purposes. And it doesn’t stop there, since this also reminds me of the soundtracks of the classic FPS games Doom and Doom II, albeit more baroque. Metallic guitars, driving rhythms and a whole load of repetitive samples are used as the foundation here, the rushing riffs, which at moments are reminiscent of speed metal, sometimes have an almost hallucinatory quality over them. The vocals are distorted in various ways and are in many instances used more like an additional instrument, as if they’re a segment of the machine. Just like advertising, this music’s strenght lies in the power of repetition, the repetition of sonic structures to be exact. The disciplined cacophony gains effectivity and impact because of this.
Loud, bold and a bit weird, but that just makes it more scrumptious. Song titles such as "DNA And The Ants", "Spleen Spiders And Spine", "Massoud Not X", "Molly Coddle Dandy", "Resist[ants]", "Big Bang Messiah" and "Grand Fun Armada" certainly contribute to the idea that Beat In Zen might not consist of the most ordinary persons. But it’s not like there still exists an unambigious definition of normalcy in these interesting times, now is there? So never mind that. The penultimate track "Smoke It Now!" drew my attention because of the use of classical samples, whereupon the title track appears in the form of a closing outro. Using the famous theme of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony as its basis, "Fifth Victory?" doesn’t need a lot of time to end this cd with a feeling of dread.
----UNDERGROUNDPRESS.co.za [01/2005]----An obscure experimental electronic album incorporating metal, acid and industrial influences with sound samples. The guitars are aggressive, the beat is raw and the atmosphere
is cold and hard, while the vocals are inhumanly insane.
"Ocean Captive" is a progressive revolution in electronic music-
